Supporting you and your family from pregnancy to early childhood
Best Start Family Hubs Lewisham offer friendly, welcoming spaces where parents, carers, children and young people can find FREE support, information and activities all in one place.
Services are available for all families with children aged 0–19 (or up to 25 with SEND), with extra support during pregnancy and the early years.
What support is available?
Best Start Family Hub services include:
- Stay and Play sessions
- Antenatal and postnatal support
- Parenting advice and courses
- Speech, language and early learning support
- Health visiting and midwifery services
- Support with benefits, cost of living and employment
- Activities and groups for parents and carers
All services are free and open to all
Free Vitamin D Scheme
Lewisham offers free Vitamin D supplements for:
- Pregnant women
- New mums (up to one year after birth)
- Children under 4 years old
Vitamin D is important for healthy bones and teeth, and free supplements can be collected from Best Start Family Hubs and selected local pharmacies.

EasyPeasy App – Free for Lewisham Parents
Lewisham families can access EasyPeasy, a free parenting app for children aged 0–5. The app offers:
- Simple, fun play ideas using everyday items
- Tips to support speech, learning and bonding
- Confidence building support for parents and carers

Bookstart Packs
Families with babies up to 12 months are eligible for a free Bookstart Baby pack.
These packs are a great way to support early development, pick up your FREE pack at your local Best Start Family Hub.

Best Start Family Hubs run a wide range of drop in and bookable sessions across the borough.
